Pilates is a discipline that develops precise work on all the muscles, including the deeper ones that are more difficult to control. Pilates takes its cues from yoga, martial arts and even bodybuilding. The development of the internal muscles helps us to maintain body balance and give firmness and strength to the spine. Thus, Pilates is recommended after rehabilitation, readaptation and during chronic illnesses that affect mobility, postural correction or muscle injuries.

There are 34 original exercises by Joseph Pilates, as well as variations and adaptations, all of them designed or devised to be performed in a controlled manner by the body and mind, through conscious, thoracic breathing, where breathing becomes an exercise of significant importance.

These exercises mostly exert opposing forces, allowing the elongation of the spine and postural correction. The mind and body work together, coordinated and improving their resistance. The method increases flexibility, promotes relaxation and increases the feeling of well-being.

Reinforcing and expanding this methodology, Pilates has designed a series of devices that improve technique and significantly help to improve rehabilitation treatments, chronic diseases that affect joint mobility, spinal pathologies, postural correction or simply improve coordination, strength and resistance. The REFORMER is a resistance machine that adapts to each physiognomy, allowing the work of muscle groups at the same time, in a non-harming way, correcting posture, substantially improving the quality of life of the student.

In our studio, we have different Pilates equipment, in addition to the REFORMER.

  • WUNDA CHAIR: simulates a wooden chair whose main objective is to strengthen and tone the muscles of the legs and feet, but we can increase its effectiveness with different exercises that improve posture, flexibility and mobility of the entire body.
  • WALL UNIT: also called a tower, it is a wall structure in which we can exercise our body in various positions, adapted with resistance springs, movable and fixed bars, it takes us to an advanced level where we can do strength work and stretching.
